We live in a digital age where people can find their news on websites or listen to personalized radio stations on their computers. Instead of watching their favorite shows on television, people have the option to stream the shows on other devices, such as their computers and cell phones.
Streaming websites such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video offer a large selection of shows and movies to view. These websites have made it possible for people to “binge-watch,” to watch several episodes in succession instead of waiting to watch one episode a week.
thebingewatcher aims to explore today’s culture of streaming movies and television shows online. We will deliver the latest news about what these websites have to offer, as well as the websites themselves.
So sit back with some popcorn (or any other preferred snack) and enjoy the world of streaming websites with thebingewatcher.
Meet the Staff!
Hi! My name is Tami and I am absolutely in love with stories. As an English major and an avid T.V. watcher, I’ve developed a love for storytelling, and hope to use my writing to create memorable stories that’ll also inspire and encourage others. We started TBW as a way for people to discuss their favorite streaming shows, so feel free to join the conversation at any time! 🙂
Hello! I am the content manager of thebingewatcher. I graduated California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Print Journalism. I enjoy watching anime, wrestling and shows like “Once Upon a Time” and “The Office.” My favorite movie is “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” I also spend my free time going to concerts and playing video games. All I really want to do in life is to continuously pursue my passion for writing.
Hello everyone! I’m a California native with a near encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture, movies in particular. I both laugh at and appreciate my fellow millennials. I love many things British, and I even lived in Oxford for a few months. Streaming entities fascinate me because they are changing the way we watch TV and movies, and I’m excited to see where we go from here!
Hello! I am a Filipina photographer and content creator based in San Diego, CA. Film and television are very important aspects in my life. I have gained a passion of knowing about the film and television industry, and how it is reflective of the times that we live in. I also enjoy a few guilty pleasures (looking at you, Master Chef and Food Network), but overall I think that exploring and creating content for film and TV cultivates a bigger conversation that we all can participate in.
When I’m not taking photos or writing, you will most likely see me watching Netflix, catching up in shows Hulu and YouTube, playing SimCity BuildIt, scouring music platforms or practicing hot yoga. I aspire to be an owner to corgis, and my main goal is to love people the way Pikachu loves ketchup.
I recently graduated Brown University in 2015 with a degree in pre-modern East Asian History. I am a forever Gryffindor, and a former professional women’s ice hockey player who spent the last year playing and working in Gothenburg Sweden! I love perusing the internet for new and interesting shows on YouTube and Netflix. When I’m not writing or watching TV, I love cooking and travel. Researching “hole-in-the-wall” places for the best authentic cuisine is one of my favorite hobbies.
